When you are said to have thin blood, it means that the platelet count per microlitre of your blood amounts to lesser than the normal range of 150,000 to 450,000. Thin blood makes clotting difficult, which is a downside when you get injuries and wounds. It is a condition usually caused by a deficiency in folic acid, bacterial infection, liver failure, dengue and the more common blood disorder leukemia.

While most people with this condition is required to undergo medications and even surgeries, a large part of the treatment involves the consumption of certain types of foods. Generally, vitamin K rich foods are suggested, because this nutrient strengthens the protein content of your blood for clotting.

Fruits and vegetables are of course great for the diet of people with thin blood. Some fruits rich in vitamin K are certain types of berries like blackberries and plums. For vegetables, you can consume dark green vegetables like green beans, kale, collards, soy beans, spinach, edemame, brussel sprouts and asparagus. They are better served steamed to prevent loss of the nutrient content.

Nuts are also a good regimen. Cashews and chestnuts as well as pistachios, pine nuts and hazelnuts are particularly good sources of vitamin K. You can either snack on them or use them as additional ingredients for your other recipes. Nuts are not only good sources of vitamin K, they are also great for the health of your heart as well as in the regulation of blood pressure and the decrease in your cholesterol level.

Definitely, the preparation of these foods are suggested as bland or steamed. This is to prevent the incident of the nutrient content getting lost due to excessive cleansing and cooking. Foods are essential when you are treating certain conditions because they provide the nutrients needed by your body to heal and replace the disease-causing cells. Eventually, the body's nutrient needs are satisfied and the cells are regenerated for healing.

The foods you eat are highly important when you want to ensure that your body has parts that function well enough and that your health is not compromised. So as much as you can, consult with a nutritionist or a trusted osteopath to ensure that you are consuming the right kind and amount of food in the duration of your treatment as well as to know which of these foods you should consume regularly along with the course of your medications.

Yeast infection or candidiasis is the result of the overgrowth of Candida albicans bacteria in the body. The out-of-control growth is caused by a lot of factors, like improper hygiene, poor diet, diabetes and unhealthy lifestyle to name a few.

The symptoms are very unpleasant and could affect your life altogether if not treated accordingly. It can occur in the mouth, also known as oral thrush. Other places in the body commonly attacked by Candida albicans are the genitalia, toenails, in belly buttons, underneath the breasts, under the fat rolls, crotch, glands in the penis, around the anus. Basically, any part of the body has the possibility of getting yeast infections, anywhere warm and moist.

Causes

There are many factors that trigger the onset of Candiadiasis. The most common ones are as follows:

· Excessive use of antibiotics

· Unhealthy diet

· Excessive sugar consumption

· Diabetes

· Improper hygienic practices

· Stress

· Imbalanced lifestyle

Understanding the different causes can help you prepare yourself for the condition and find possible ways to stop it altogether. Knowing what to watch out for would also help you determine the right approach for treatment.

The Right Diet

Foods are one of the major factors that influence yeast infection. There are foods that trigger it altogether and ones with the power to prevent its occurrence. The Candida diet has proven to be very helpful in treating the condition. There are certain foods that help control fungal overgrowth, but there are also those which trigger it.

Good Foods

A healthy diet could definitely help prevent the occurrence of yeast infection. The recommended diets for people suffering from candidiasis are foods rich in protein and fiber combined with carbohydrates.

Vegetables: broccoli, bell peppers, cabbages, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, okra, alfalfa sprouts, eggplant, garlic, arugula, turnip, cucumber, cauliflower, radish, kale, onion, tomato, bell pepper, scallion, lettuce, watercress, spinach, zucchini, string beans and celery

Meats: goat, sausage, liver, poultry, fowl and lamb

Seafood: salmon, halibut, shrimp, squid, cod and anchovy. Fresh water fishes are also ideal, like trout, perch, bass, catfish and crappie.

Bad Foods

There are certain foods that could trigger or worsen yeast infection. If you are prone to candidiasis, you should be aware of such foods and avoid them altogether as much as possible. Since sugar is one of the common culprits, limit your intake on sugary products, especially processed foods which may contain hidden sweeteners.

Breads and Other Baked Products: doughnuts, pastries, cookies, cakes. This includes products with wheat content.

Legumes: steer clear from peas, beans, tofu

Pasta: all types of pasta and all types of noodles

Dairy Products: sour cream, sweetened yogurt, all types of cheese and milk

Seeds and Nuts: walnuts, coconut, almond, pistachios and peanuts

Beverages: all types of coffee, alcohol, all types of soft drinks, fruit juices, all processed teas, black tea and all fruit teas.

Fruit: avoid dried fruits. When starting a Candida diet, it is best to temporarily avoid eating fruits altogether. The fructose content in fruits may help trigger yeast.

Meat: pork, chicken and beef must be cut off from your diet. These meat products contain hormones and antibiotics which may just worsen yeast infection. Salami products, sausages and bacon must also be avoided.

Vegetables: cucumber skins, beetroot, all kinds of mushrooms, canned tomatoes and processed soups.

Sauces and Condiments: All kinds of processed tomato sauce and steak sauce, powdered/died garlic, powdered/dried onion, Miso and any product with sugar content in them.

Remember, in order to eliminate yeast infection fast, you should practice discipline and stick to a healthy diet. If you want to easily get rid of it; you can start it with a proper, balanced diet.
